What is CloudPuncher?

CloudPuncher is a fully automated, self-serve cloud-based service designed to conduct load/performance tests and perform test analysis. The service automatically allocates cloud-based virtual clients to run your load and performance tests. The allocated clients target your website or online application and execute the requests from the previously recorded tests. As a result, you do not need to worry about spending time on setting up a test environment or maintaining HW/SW testing resources.

What do I need to run a load test?

At the very minimum, all you need is a website, software project or product you would like to target in a test and an account with CloudPuncher.com. We provide online testing environment, the testing resources and technical expertise (if you need us) to help you navigate the process and analyze your results with you so you can quickly get to the business of resolving any problem areas that are uncovered during your tests.

My service/site is not running in a Cloud, can I use CloudPuncher to test it?

Yes, CloudPuncher can test any web-based application or site regardless of where it is hosted. Whether it is a shared/dedicated web hosting service, private data center or a Cloud computing environment, CloudPuncher can run a test and monitor the performance of your application.

What is a virtual user?

A virtual user is a computer simulated user, a computer program, launched and coordinated by the CloudPuncher software. Virtual users allocated by CloudPuncher work and behave much like regular users on the internet, however, instead of testing with real browsers CloudPuncher usesvirtual users that are algorithmically randomized to represent as true to life real browsing as possible in order to keep your testing costs low, but realistic.

How many virtual users can I test with?

CloudPuncher supports an unlimited number of concurrent virtual users. When you create a test scenario, you have several options to configure how the users will be allocated. You can allocate them incrementally by number, alternate high and low client load or create a completely custom client allocation chart. The resources are automatically provisioned for you once you launch your test.

Can I download the results of my load test?

Test reports can be visualized through the CloudPuncher Test Manager and downloaded in the PDF format. PDF-based reports include an interactive component embedded in the document for visualization and analysis of the test results.

Do you offer consulting services that would help my team through the testing phase?

Yes, we or one of our testing partners can help you. Please contact sales@cloudpuncher.com to discuss your testing needs with us.
